Terms of service

These terms govern use of DevTeam — the internal services used by the development teams working on the DevTeam project. By signing in, you agree to them.

These are internal engineering tools, not a public or commercial service. They are offered to authorised members of our teams and to automation acting on their behalf.

Who may use them

Accounts are issued by administrators. There is no self-service registration, and signing in with Google does not create an account.

You may use these services only while you are authorised to do so — typically for as long as you are a member of a team or working with us under an agreement that grants access.

Your account

• Keep your credentials to yourself. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
• Access tokens, SSH keys and deploy tokens you create carry your permissions. Treat them as credentials, give them the narrowest scope that works, and revoke them when they are no longer needed.

Acceptable use

Use these services for their purpose — our work. Do not:

• use them for anything unlawful, or in breach of anyone's rights;
• store personal data, secrets or customer data in repositories except where the relevant internal policy allows it;
• attempt to gain access to accounts, projects or data you have not been granted;
• probe, attack or deliberately overload these services or the infrastructure they run on;
• use them to distribute malware, or to mine cryptocurrency on our build runners.

Your content

Code, documentation and other material you contribute in the course of your work remain subject to whatever agreement governs that work — typically your employment or contractor agreement. These terms do not change who owns what.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, including any third-party code and its licence terms.

Availability

We run these services on a best-effort basis. There is no uptime guarantee. We take them down for maintenance and upgrades, sometimes at short notice, and we may change or remove features — or retire a service altogether.

We keep backups, but you should not treat these services as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Suspension and termination

Access ends when your authorisation ends. We may also suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms, or where we need to in order to protect these services or their users.

After an account is closed, contributed content may remain where it forms part of project history that others rely on. This is described in the privacy policy.

No warranty

These services are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be communicated to people with accounts.
